The A3 Sportback e-tron® is much more than just another hybrid car. It can operate on pure electric power, gas power or a combination of the two. And by uniting a responsive 204-hp powertrain with the innovative Audi energy program, the A3 Sportback e-tron® can outperform other hybrids in more ways than one. Electric power

Enjoy the silent, smooth, low-cost operation of driving on pure electric power with a range up to 18 miles — enough to cover many short commutes.

Gas power

Go just about anywhere with the gas engine. It provides power when the battery is low, charges the battery and supplements the electric motor to provide faster acceleration when needed.

Hybrid power

In hybrid mode, the A3 Sportback e-tron® picks the best combination of driving power — all electric, gas or a combination of both, for optimal performance depending on the situation.

The A3 Sportback e-tron® combines the best of a hybrid car and an EV, uniting the lower operating costs of an EV with the range of a gas vehicle. And with 204-hp, the A3 Sportback e-tron® is one of the few hybrids that doesn’t perform like one.

Power worth plugging into

With 102 horsepower and 243 lb-ft. of torque, the electric motor delivers responsive acceleration and an incredibly quiet and smooth drive. It can also supplement the gas engine to provide an extra boost of power when needed.

Electric power

With an expected electric range of between 16 and 19 miles1 (final technical adjustments are being tested and implemented) from a fully charged battery, a substantial amount of your daily driving needs can be met before your next recharge, while the gasoline engine lets you venture on longer journeys whenever it suits you.

With a combined electric and gas range that’s comparable to most gas powered cars1, the A3 Sportback e-tron® offers the freedom to explore the open road.

Charging has never been simpler

The included charger doubles as a mobile charger. Simply remove it and take it with you for charging on the go. The charge port on the vehicle is cleverly hidden behind the Audi logo in the front grille, making it easy to charge no matter which side of the vehicle the charger is on.

The elegantly designed complimentary charger2 tops off your battery at home in as little as 2 hours and 15 minutes when you use a 240-volt power source. A standard 110v outlet takes about 8 hours, ideal for overnight charging. Home installation is easy, thanks to Bosch-certified technicians.

Experience a true connection

You’ll never be more connected than you are in an e-tron®. The smartphone app tells you everything you need to know about your vehicle’s status including charge level, range and parking location. With a remote start feature, you can also pre-heat or pre-cool your e-tron® while plugged in to maximize your range in EV mode.

The A3 Sportback e-tron® takes a holistic approach to sustainability. This is achieved in large part through the Audi energy program — a revolutionary suite of services that includes a carbon-offset program, home solar panel installation program and a home charger (at no additional charge)² to help maximize electric driving.

Going beyond the factory

Audi has collaborated with 3Degrees⁴, an award-winning, carbon offset and renewable energy company, to offset carbon emissions generated during manufacturing, distribution and the first 50,000 miles of ownership. 3Degrees also supports additional sustainability projects, such as Wildlife Works and US Landfill Gas, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions like carbon dioxide and methane even further.
